Nonetheless, the FPAS SJT has good and bad answers, alongside a particular imprint scheme. The FPAS Situational Judgment Test (FPAS SJT) will give you clinical based situations. These inquiries will center around testing your clinical standards and morals, and spotlight on characteristics such polished skill, bedside way, cooperation and your capacity to adapt while under tension. Yo u won't need a continued degree of clinical information to finish these inquiries. So as to discover what date the test will be run on, for the year that you are applying, you ought to talk straightforwardly to your clinical school, or contact the UK Foundation Progamme themselves. They will likewise have the option to furnish you with counsel on the most proficient method to book your test.FPAS SJT QuestionsIn absolute, there are 70 inquiries in the assessment, and you will be given 2 hours and 20 minutes to finish the test. The test is scored out of 50.00, and most of competitors will score somewhere in the range of 20.01 and 50.00.The test is part into two sections:Section 1. In this area, you will be furnished with a clinical situation, and 5 answer choices. Your main responsibility is to rank these answer alternatives, with 1 being the most fitting and 5 being the least suitable. There is an all out score of 20 accessible for each question, with each right positioning being sco red 4 focuses, and 3 in the event that you score one answer lower by one (for instance, in the event that you put choice An as 2, when it ought to have been 1). The further off you are on every choice, the lower you will score. This is something that makes the test so testing. On the off chance that you rank one answer alternative off-base, at that point you'll get another wrong as well, and thusly one wrong answer can snowball and enormously sway the remainder of your imprints for that question. Segment 1 records for roughly 2/3rds of the whole test.Section 2. In this area, the inquiries are marginally unique. By and by you will be given a clinical situation, however now you will be offered 8 response choices. Your responsibility is to pick the best 3 answers. There is an aggregate of 12 imprints for every inquiry here, with each right answer being worth 4 marks. How to AnswerIn this segment, we'll give you some fundamental tips on interesting points while responding to the inquirie s, which ought to accommodatingly make your life much easier. The focal point of the FPAS SJT is to build up whether you have the dynamic abilities to work inside a medical clinic, and whether your morals and standards are in accordance with what might be normal. When positioning the appropriate responses from 1-5, you'll have to consider a scope of components, including clinical morals, polished methodology and assent. Each question will give you various things to evaluate and consider, before going to a choice. Therefore, it tends to be difficult to build up an exact framework for weighing up the estimation of answer choices. In certain inquiries, you may be given 4 dreadful choices and only 1 great choice, and you'll at that point need to evaluate which of the terrible choices is 'the least awful'. Thus, you may be given 4 extraordinary alternatives and 1 horrendous choice â€" again you would need to evaluate which of the great choices is the best. In some cases, setting the top a nd base answer is simple, however requesting the appropriate responses in the center can end up being very dubious. In light of this, here are a few rules on the most proficient method to approach separating troublesome scenarios:1. Is the patient safe, or will this mischief them? Understanding security ought to consistently be your main need. In the event that you are settling on a choice that will affect upon a patient, at that point you should settle on the choice with the aim of profiting their consideration. In the event that you feel that one of the appropriate response alternatives will hurt or contrarily sway the patient, at that point this ought to go (at any rate) close to the base of your answer request. There will be various inquiries centering around themes, for example, classification, and regarding quiet decisions.2. Attempt and consider the more extensive ramifications of every choice. For instance, on the off chance that you have a patient tossed out by security, at that point how is this going to affect them, how is it going to affect the clinic, and how is it going to affect you?3. Consider how your choice could affect the conduct and sentiments of your associates, if proper. Could this steamed everyone around you? Might it be able to negatively affect them? It's significant that you can exhibit great collaboration, and be a steady outlet for your colleagues.4. Consider your degree of skill when filling in as a lesser specialist. Is it accurate to say that you are able to settle on this choice, or would it better to counsel somebody increasingly senior? The assessors need to have the option to see that you have the astuteness and premonition to comprehend your own confinements, and not to attempt to take on errands that you aren't arranged or prepared for. Attempt to be commonsense. Consider whether the activity that the appropriate response choice is requesting is sensible and conceivable at that time. When noting the second piece of the tes t, you should adopt a comparable strategy. In this test, you won't have to rank the alternatives, yet you will at present need to give the three best reactions â€" and the above system should assist you with doing this. It's critical, when taking the FPAS SJT, that you answer the inquiries dependent on set up clinical morals, and the rules spread out by the General Medical Council (GMC). You can find out about these standards by means of the establishment program page.Along with this, you are likewise expected to have some information on clinical law, and basic measures that you would utilize when deciding, for example, the psychological wellness act and the intellectual ability act. Once more, the above connection ought to furnish you with supported data pretty much these components. This passage was posted in Assessment Centers. Bookmark the permalink. LinkedIn Isnt Facebook

LinkedIn Isn't Facebook LinkedIn Isn't Facebook Despite the fact that LinkedIn is basically a business organizing site, it's despite everything thought about online life. That is a piece of the explanation having a profile photograph and, with the new UI, a foundation photograph as well. All things considered, LinkedIn isn't Facebook. Which implies your photograph should be enrollment specialist and manager prepared. In spite of this, I regularly observed unseemly photographs utilized in LinkedIn profiles. I don't mean the undeniable slip-ups like gathering photographs, in spite of the fact that I've seen them, it's photographs that individuals have placed some idea into. Photographs like these. Previous Group Shots While you may have a decent grin, photographs where you have clearly been removed of a gathering shot are bad decisions for your LinkedIn profile. Regardless of whether you have effectively edited yourself out of the gathering, as in you can't see somebody's arm behind you, the point will in any case be off. Graduation Photos It's incredible that you're a pleased alumni, you ought to be. Be that as it may, you need bosses to consider you to be a worker not an understudy. A photograph in your top and outfit looks especially off on the off chance that you've quite recently gotten a propelled degree. Remembering that for your training, or even in your Summary area is a superior method to flaunt your new sheepskin. Formalwear Photos While my most loved in this classification was a profile I went over while filling in as a scout: a lady in her wedding outfit, shroud what not. Be that as it may, I frequently observe photographs of men in tuxedos and ladies in night, or night like, clothing. Once more, not something that passes on that you are an expert. Gathering Shots For reasons unknown, numerous individuals pick photographs taken with their accomplice, kid, or canine. None of these make you resemble a representative. The special case may be a vet that has a profile image of she and her pooch. In all actuality, in case you're a lady a photograph with your kid can neutralize you. May not be correct, yet it could occur. Sports Photos Except if it's applicable to your position or target position, an image of you skiing isn't the most ideal decision for LinkedIn. While it might not have as negative an effect as a photograph of you and your youngster, it won't be as powerful as a head shot in business clothing. While ideal to have, you needn't bother with an expertly taken, photograph shopped, profile shot. You do require a reasonable head-shot, ideally grinning, and wearing business clothing. You can transfer your photograph to photofeeler to hear target thoughts for a sensible rate. Keep in mind, LinkedIn is frequently the first run through an enrollment specialist and additionally potential boss meets you. Having an improper photograph will likely not work in support of yourself. On the off chance that you have any uncertainty that your profile shot isn't working, have somebody take a couple of depictions this week. While you're grinding away, pick a foundation photograph for your profile too. The nonexclusive blue screen makes you look conventional as well.

Will Employee Service Awards Disappear in the Gig Economy - Workology

Will Employee Service Awards Disappear in the Gig Economy Many Companies Have Service Programs If you have been working for any period of time you may have worked for a company that recognizes employees for years of service. Many of you that have worked for your company for more than 5 or 10 years may even have such an award, but the changes we are seeing in the workplace and in the nature of work will these service awards become a thing of the past? Many Companies Have Service Programs According to a survey by SHRM and Globoforce 74% of companies report that they still have service anniversary programs. Companies hope that these programs engage employees, increase employee satisfaction, make employees happy, renew employee commitment and more. Unfortunately in this group there is a mixed bag of results. The study said “…only 22 percent of companies reported having an excellent program, 47 percent rated it as good and a full 31 percent rated their program as fair or poor.” The organizations that have these programs say they could be improved and be more effective if: The employees were given a more inspirational experience Upper management participated more Better awards were used More money was put into the program There was a more modern program Something that could be shared with family And more. I think there is another reason service award programs are not effective. Do People Stay 5 Years? I think service awards are becoming increasingly ineffective in the goals of increasing engagement, increasing satisfaction and making employees happy because fewer and fewer people are staying long enough to earn a service award. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the average job tenure in the United States in 2014 is 4.6 years. Only about 29% of workers have job tenure of 10 years or more. In fact the BLS says: “Median employee tenure was generally higher among older workers than younger ones. For example, the median tenure of workers ages 55 to 64 (10.4 years) was more than three times that of workers ages 25 to 34 years (3.0 years). A larger proportion of older workers than younger workers had 10 years or more of tenure. Among workers ages 60 to 64, 58 percent were employed for at least 10 years with their current employer in January 2014, compared with only 12 percent of those ages 30 to 34.” The Gig Economy Doesn’t Produce Tenure As we move into a gig economy model we are going to find an increasing irrelevance and effectiveness of service awards. Workers are looking for flexibility and experience and will move from company to company for that experience. So for those of you that are betting the bank on the ability of your service award program I would suggest you revisit that idea.

Google Corporate Culture Revealed

Google Corporate Culture Revealed Googles Culture Revealed, a book review of Im Feeling Lucky: The Confessions of Google Employee Number 59 The book Im Feeling Lucky: The Confessions of Google Employee Number 59 by Douglas Edwards; Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. The backstory Edwards is Googles first director of consumer marketing and brand management. In this memoir, he shares a first-person inside view of the iconic high-tech company, Google.  Edwards chronicles his journey and personal growth during Googles early years.  Throughout the book, he peppers in colorful  anecdotes  and details.  He also pauses to reflect on relevant milestones from the 1999-2005 time frame,  featuring  cameos from the most influential and critical Google employees. Why its relevant to Google job seekers Its quite possibly the most insightful and authentic perspective on what its like to work at Google.  Edwards reveals, dissects, and evaluates all aspects of Googles corporate culture including Googles values and decision making. Other Google books observe the corporate culture from an arms length, using third-party reports.  Edwards shares his own personal experiences and supplements his analysis from interviews with key ex-coworkers. Key takeaways I thought Edwards accurately  describing  Googles marketing principles, which vexed both internal and external observers. Marketing principles PR and word of mouth work better than ads. Paid ads work against our brand. Focus on the joy of discovery. Well grow faster getting current users to search more than by mass marketing. All our promotions must include a way to measure success. Product interaction is, and must remain, the primary branding experience. User retention efforts should center on improving UI and user support. Edwards also did an excellent job describing Pages work style. Larrys Rules of Order Dont delegate: Do everything you can yourself to make things go faster. Dont get in the way if youre not adding value. Let the people actually doing the work talk to each other while you go do something else. Dont be a bureaucrat. Ideas are more important than age. Just because someone is junior doesnt mean they dont desere respect and cooperation. The worst thing you can do is stop something from doing something by saying, No. Period. If you say no, you have to help them find a better way to get it done. Why this is better than other Google books Details.   When other Google books merely scratch the surface, Edwards book penetrate into the details.  Googles food menus are shared in detail, and Edwards reveals that Googles #1 marketing expense was Google t-shirts for employees.  We find that getting a C on your OKRs (Googles goal setting system) is ok.  And best of all, we get a first-person narrative on key decisions and discussions with  Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Urs Hölzle, Jeff Dean, Salar Kamangar among others.

The power of habit book review

The intensity of propensity book audit The intensity of propensity book audit I feel that overall The Power of Habit was a not terrible, but not great either book with regards to the idea of changing one's propensities. There are many better situations about this and free substance of a lot higher quality.But.Charles Duhigg made a huge support of the general public all in all by advancing the idea of propensities in the cognizance of the general public. The Power of Habit was the first historically speaking book about propensities that broke into the mainstream.Follow Ladders on Flipboard!Follow Ladders' magazines on Flipboard covering Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and more!Because of this book, others could follow with more books about propensities and changing a person's conduct for acceptable. My mentor, Steve Scott, composed the entire arrangement of books about propensities, two or three dozen of them! Gretchen Rubin composed a splendid transformative book, Better than Before. Brendon Burchard distributed his book about top ente rtainers' propensities. James Clear and Leo Babauta created flourishing online journals (many thousands endorsers) around the idea of habits.None of the above would be conceivable without the breakthrough The Power of Habit made into the mass culture. It certainly has drawbacks, however this book additionally carried out its responsibility to the T and afterward some.Three Main Pitfalls of The Power of HabitNarrow Definition of HabitsThis book limited a human propensity to a propensity circle that is put away in the mind. Our propensities are so much more!It resembles saying that human discourse is a progression of neural motivations terminating in the cerebrum. Our discourse is a methods for correspondence, a door to higher and extract ideas, an approach to arrange enormous activities that one individual can't deal with, a texture of human connections, an approach to explain our feelings to one another, etc, thus on.Yes, the structure of a propensity is put away in the basal ganglia as a propensity circle. No, it's not all. It's simply the beginning. The top definition let out by Google says that a propensity is a settled or normal inclination or practice, particularly one that is difficult to give up.My most loved model is my composing propensity. Since 23rd of September, 2013 each and every day I have been composing a few hundred words. I have the 100% achievement proportion. Each. Single. Day.No programmed trigger touches off this movement. The movement itself isn't programmed. I write in different various structures (blog entries, Quora answers, pay reports, articles, true to life books, a novel, fiction short stories and that's only the tip of the iceberg), in two unique dialects (my local Polish and English), in better places (at home, on trains during my day by day drive and even grinding away) and at an alternate times (in my composing log you can locate each and every hour of the day). You can't accommodate my composing propensity into a tight meaning of a propensity loop. It's an Endpoint, Not a RewardThe propensity circle itself isn't decisively depicted in The Power of Habit. This trap is really the shortcoming of researchers' point of view slanted by the examination they led on creatures. In their cerebrum examine, they were probing guinea pigs. They prepared them to figure out how to a bit of chocolate in the maze. After some time, the creatures were routinely finding the path to the treat. The flavor of chocolate was shutting the circle and finishing the propensity in their cerebrum. In the event that they didn't discover the chocolate, they were befuddled on the grounds that the circle in their cerebrums was still active.Well, we are not rodents, life isn't a maze, and chocolate is shrewd (unquestionably for me, with my sweet tooth). However, my experience recommends that you needn't bother with a compensation toward the finish of the circle, you simply need a clear endpoint. While I sit tight for a rural train, I ruminate for a couple of moments. The sign for my contemplation propensity is showing up on the train stage, the routine is my reflection, and the reward (you perceive how improper the name is in this specific situation? How about we call it an endpoint fro m now on) is the appearance of the train. The path to the workplace by tram takes me precisely ten minutes. While in transit to work, I read a book composed by a holy person. In transit back home, I practice speed perusing. The signs are finding a spot in a metro train. The endpoints are appearances to the destinations.Parts II and IIIThe top review of The Power of Habit on Amazon says that: The creator portrays the intensity of feeble ties of informal communities, and cases that it helps [us] comprehend the ascent of social developments - which it unmistakably does. Be that as it may, in his clarification, systems are rebranded as the propensity for peer pressure. Networks - just as companion weight, or culture - can be ground-breaking powers for change, without a doubt. Be that as it may, systems are not propensities - according to his own definition. Various marvels are conflated into the idea of propensities, and in doing so the idea loses style and consistency.I will in general concur. Those parts weakened the book's message. On the other hand, I think they were important to advance the book, and I consider the effect of The Power of Habit into mass crowd its fundamental preferred position and mission. Notwithstanding those parts, The Power of Habitwouldn't have the consideration of enterprises and associations. It would have been simply one more self improvement gui de calling individuals to change their lives.Parts II and III exhibited that there is a business in propensities. Great organizations flourish due to great frameworks, and those frameworks depend on people's habits. What is more, Charles accidentally handled reality that as of late broke into the information on researchers investigating change in human conduct: changing propensities exclusively is a losing recommendation. It resembles hitting the nails with your hand rather than a sledge. It very well may be done, yet the outcomes are so much more terrible, and the cost is so much higher. The default approach to change your propensities ought to be in a gathering arrangement. At the point when you include even a solitary other individual, your odds for progress soar. So maybe those pieces of the book weren't as adjusted to the fundamental message, yet they were both vital and accurate.ProsPhilosophyAs an aftereffect of all the above cons, The Power of Habit is not the book I could ever prescribe to somebody who needs to change their propensities. Be that as it may, it's great on the off chance that you need more information, particularly about the condition of science about the human cerebrum and propensities. The entire book, and various stories instanced in it, makes additionally a convincing case for the most extreme significance of propensities in our lives.I can suggest this book with all genuine feelings of serenity to any individual who imagines that propensities are not significant, dreary, not intriguing, exhausting, inconsequential or constraining. This is the best book on Earth to lecture about habits. And I found in my training practice that when you are persuaded about the significance of good propensities when you make this conviction a piece of your own way of thinking, it's a lot simpler to really change your propensities and your regular life.Habit LoopI don't accept the idea of a propensity circle will ever be clarified better as composed substance. Charles made it far reaching, point by point, outlined with striking stories and pressed with logical research. If you need to find out about the intricate details of a propensity circle, the initial segment of The Power of Habit is a go-to put. Period.Social AspectCharles put together his book with respect to logical research yet, for this situation, he was in front of his time. The Power of Habit was distributed in 2012. BJ Fogg, the head of Persuasive Lab on Stanford University, conceded uniquely toward the finish of 2015 that he neglected the significance of social coopera tions in getting the change people's habits.Social backing can represent the moment of truth your determination to change. Charles didn't well-spoken it in those words, however the effect of propensities for groups, groups and groups on organizations, associations and social orders painted an exceptionally clear connection. I commend him for that.Summary:I think The Power of Habit is: - a not really good or bad book on the off chance that you need to change your life; - an incredible book on the off chance that you need to extend your insight about propensities and logical scene of conduct inquire about; - the best book on the planet for anybody that requirements persuading about the significance of propensities; - the advancement book that carried propensities into the standard culture. This article previously showed up on Expandbeyondyourself.com .You may likewise appreciate… New neuroscience uncovers 4 ceremonies that will fulfill you Outsiders know your social class in the initial seven words you state, study finds 10 exercises from Benjamin Franklin's day by day plan that will twofold your profitability The most exceedingly terrible slip-ups you can make in a meeting, as indicated by 12 CEOs 10 propensities for intellectually tough individuals

Job Search Program Feedback 1 from Rob Joseph

Job Search Program Feedback 1 from Rob Joseph Rob Joseph is a finance executive in Ohio. He came across JibberJobber a few months ago and I invited him to be an alpha tester of the Job Search Program. He jumped on it when there wasnt even an app I sent him a link to the audio every day. What did he have to say about it early on? The key advantage of  [todays audio] is that it got me free from analysis paralysis that has had me stuck for some time.   I was under the impression I had to read every job search book in my library before getting started with my actual, systematic job search.   You told me to get started, and I did. This program is all about getting moving. I dont intend to make you an expert in job search strategy I also felt like I had to read a lot and study before I could dive into the job search. Instead of spending days and weeks studying to understand, trust me, and work this job search program. Youll learn as you go, but you dont need to delay progress and results while learning. Rob continues: Also, as much as I liked and learned from your PluralSight videos, this short podcast was much more action-oriented.   I got me to take action. I love my Pluralsight courses, too. But they have a different intention and a different audience. This job search program is intended for a job seeker who is serious about making progress and landing a great job. They are ready to put in the work and do hard things. Is that you? Follow the instructions here to get started. Can Recruiting with Facebook Work

Can Recruiting with Facebook Work You started off by being able to poke your friends, or look-up people you used to go to school with and add them to your account. Since then Facebook has introduced lots of different features for its users including adding filters to your photos, making voice and video calls, sharing pictures, and even changing your relationship status. But now  the social media site will allow you to post job adverts as well as  being able to apply for them. Its been testing it for a while but its now been rolled out for users in America and Canada. Facebooks VP of Ads and Business platform, Andrew Bosworth told Techcrunch  that it was aimed primarily at small businesses who are struggling to hire and casual job seekers who want a part-time or flexible role. It also means it could give LinkedIn a run for its money by capitalising on areas they dont really cater for: the lower-skilled and the non-job-seeker. While most people who are looking for a job or looking to hire will go to LinkedIn for their next opportunity, Facebook is taking a number of jobs to those who arent necessarily looking for one but may apply anyway. Why this is good news? The way it will work is that the new jobs feature  will show up in some peoples news feed, inviting them to apply for the job. Avid users of Facebook tend to log in at least once a day, or if theyre already logged in, they will dip in and out of the site. This means employers have numerous opportunities to grab the attention of a potential employee when the job advert shows in their news feeds. Its a win-win for employers as theyll be able to tap into an audience who may not have known that the company was hiring and when an applicant clicks on the Apply Now button, a form will appear with some of their information already completed  with some of the details  they used when signing up for Facebook, making it a simple  process. Why this is bad news? If you thought no-one would ever see those embarrassing photos or that drunkenly written post full of expletives well now is the time to be afraid. Very afraid. Because this new jobs feature makes it  easier  than ever for employers to discover them. If youre smart and quick enough then you can control what parts of your Facebook profile you choose to share with potential employers BEFORE you apply for that much-wanted job. But, it does  mean that its more important than ever to make sure your public posts are something youre happy to share with your future boss, because he or she is probably looking at them, even if they werent actively looking for them. Wendy Grahn, co-owner of the Chicago-based Lakeview Kitchen and Market has already used Facebooks new job ad feature. She said: We only had one response and she came directly into the shop. We talked and we hired her and its working out great. Im not sure if we had got more (applicants) but we didnt need it, so we closed the position. We are planning to use it again to hire for the Farmers Markets. Social media recruitment  continues to evolve in  2017  so while it is nothing new it is definitely getting bigger and better. Facebook has over a billion users worldwide so its a great opportunity for the company to earn (even more) money and for businesses to get more exposure. James Nathan of the James Nathan Experience: Is Facebook jobs a credible way to recruit? Well that all depends on the audience you are looking to appeal to. As with all online advertising, each media has its own target audience. Facebook has been a very successful platform for marketing many types of businesses, and follows that it should also be a helpful place to attract candidates for those types of businesses too. While the new job ads feature is being rolled out in North America there are no plans yet to introduce it to global audiences, although it may just be a matter of time until it is.

Reader Career Question I Want to be a Life Coach

Reader Career Question I Want to be a Life Coach Dear Nicole, I recently graduated with my Masters of Education degree in Psychology. What Im being advised to do by many is to go on and pursue a Phd, but I dont want to become an academic- I want to become a life coach. The PhD would not let me be creative and Ive been needing that in my life, hence why I started my blog. I share my experiences and the lessons I have learned to help empower others to live their best lives. Im kind of stuck as I dont know how to turn my vision into reality. Therefore, my question for you is, what advice would you have for a new graduate looking to turn their vision into reality. How did you start?  Thanks, Arianna Hi Arianna, Thanks so much for your question and for reading Ms. Career Girl! Its funny, I frequently receive career questions like yours right after people graduate from college or complete their graduate studies. Its like people have an expectations hangover once they get out there and realize the career path they chose is not exactly what they thought it would be like. Then the guilt follows about spending so much money and time on a program that may not have led them to a role they love Im assuming that with a Masters in Psychology you can go on to become a licensed therapist or counselor of some kind? If so, I would pursue that route and obtain all the hours/testing you need to become a licensed therapist. As you may know, currently there are no legal barriers to becoming a life coach. This means that anyone could technically hang a shingle and call themselves a life coachthat doesnt mean they will be good at it though! Your advantage is that youve already completed the most credible type of education your field offers and people trust it. Use that to your advantage in giving your life coaching clients peace of mind while adding a new angle to your practice. Define your brand: What makes you and your practice different? Since you have a background in education, determine if you would be interested in TEACHING others how to become a life coach.  This could be a whole separate area of your business or a business in itself. What can you offer to your patients that other therapists cannot?  (ex: perhaps you will offer group coaching, local workshops, e-products and/or 6-month step-by-step program options) Who is your perfect client? Write it down in a living document that you check back with frequently (perhaps on your desk top or on a google doc).  Where do your ideal clients hang out and how can you reach them (online and off)? Once you define these very  important  branding questions, you can create your online presence around your brand and start creating great online content that will attract your ideal customers to your unique life coaching practice. 10 Steps to Build your Life Coaching Business Start with a clear goal and then make a plan and process around it.  For example, if your goal is to bring in $3,000 in revenue per month, how are you going to do it?  You will need to bill X hours at $Y per hour.  Or, you will need to sell X e-products at $Y each.  Perhaps its a combination.  Find out what your numbers are first.  Then create a coaching program and/or a product that will get you there. Check out what other successful coaches are doing to get ideas for YOUR business model.  I highly recommend checking out Michelle Ward, Michael Port  and Christine Hassler. Teach local classes for free to meet new prospects and test out your products/services.    I highly recommend looking into teaching via  Dabble.co  if it is in your area. This is a great way to see if your group workshops coaching programs have legs and if people will pay for them.  Its also a great way to iron out kinks in your curriculum without much too much risk. Once you crystallize what your products/services are, create free e-books, white papers or webinars that prospects can download by filling out a short form/submitting their email address.  Not only are you  giving  these people premium content at no cost, you are answering their questions and therefore indirectly building a relationship with them.  You are also gathering prospects  contact information so that you can contact them and see if your services are a good fit. After you create your free content online, make sure your website has clear Call to Action buttons so people can easily see the added value you are giving.   For example you will need several places people can fill out a contact form, get a free coaching session, download a free e-book on living your best life, etc.  The more places you have to  capture  information and share more about your products/services and brand, the more likely you will be to set yourself up for success. Update your blog frequently.    When you write blog posts, think about what people might be Googling in order to find you.  Remember that most people go online to get their questions answered.  How can your blog posts answer your prospects questions? List your services in several free local business directories.  People are always searching for great therapists and/or life coaches.  They will often start with local directories, especially those in which you have a high rating in (like Yelp). Make sure you are active and strategic on Twitter.  Use tools like Tweet Deck to set up searches for people who may  be looking for your services.  For example you could set up a search for need a life coach and then respond with an introduction at their time of need.  I also recommend participating in TweetChats around self-improvement, personal development and wellness there are tons! Guest post on other blogs and make sure your bio and a link back to your site is there.  The more targeted audiences you can reach the better.  Offer great advice and be sure to be clear of what your services are in your bio. Add videos to your website.  In the field of life coaching, its all about trusting the person youre telling your secrets (and giving your money) to.  By posting videos that give people added value you are giving them a sampling of what it would be like to work with you.  Your personality and style will be great for your business and the best way to capture it is to do short videos and post them for  everyone  to see. I hope my tips get you one stop closer to making your dream of becoming a life coach a reality!  Think like a business woman, have a great offering and make sure your inbound marketing strategy online is set.  Youll be great and wont even have to go get that phd! Good luck! Nicole Crimaldi

How Successful People Spend Their Lunchtimes

How Successful People Spend Their Lunchtimes Lunchtime. Some people see it as an hour of doing nothing The most successful of people see it as an hour of opportunity. Whether youre meeting a new client for lunch or using it as a time to reflect, lunchtimes can be one of the most useful hours of the day. So dont sit at a desk with a sandwich, leave your desk and make use of the hour ahead. They never eat lunch alone. Keith Farazzi believes that to get ahead in life, you have to reach out to people. How to do that? He believes you should never eat lunch alone instead use the opportunity to meet new people, reconnect with old faces and meet potential clients. Farazzi believes that the only one way to become truly successful    is to create lasting relationships with others, and what better way to do this than to talk over lunch?! They use it to sleep: Were all told time and time again that the optimum amount of sleep you need every night is 8 hours.  Some people find it particularly difficult to fit this in at night time so why not use your lunch hour to power nap? Arianna Huffington is a strong advocate for getting as much sleep as possible. She believes that Sleep is something that encompasses many aspects of our lives, from technology and leadership to our relationships, careers, creativity and stress.. Definitely a reason for a lunchtime snooze! They read: If youre having a particularly busy day, it can be tempting to work throughout your lunch break whilst eating. However, its incredibly important to take a proper break in order to make sure you maximise your afternoon. Michael Kerr, an international business speaker relays this idea and thinks that reading helps you focus, offers a mental break from work, and can give you some much-needed solitude. They organise work and personal life: Lunch is also a pretty good time to sort out anything you need to in your life outside work. Make sure you use the time to tick at least a few things off your to-do list.  Knowing youve sorted things out in your personal life will mean that you free up that much needed mental space for the rest of the day. The afternoon can be on of the most productive times of day, so its best to use lunchtime to truly maximise its potential. They plan their day accordingly: The most successful people know that lunchtimes are important so they make sure they include it in their plans for the day. They dont schedule long meetings for lunchtime, and if they do its somewhere they can talk over a lunch. They make sure their plans for the day include lunch because it keeps the rest of their day productive. Its clear that successful people make sure to include lunch in their plans for the day. So if youre planning on skipping lunch today.dont do it! Let us know what youre doing with your lunch hour over on Twitter. Tweet us @UndercoverRec!

Marking Yourself Indelibly

Marking Yourself Indelibly Art on a wall, but you get the picture (photo courtesy Wikipedia) According to Wikipedia, The first written reference to the word, tattoo (or Samoan Tatau) appears in the 1769 journal of Joseph Banks, the naturalist aboard Captain Cooks ship the HMS Endeavour: I shall now mention the way they mark themselves indelibly, each of them is so marked by their humor or disposition.” According to Pew Research, nearly half of 26-40-year-olds (40 percent) and 36 percent of 18-25-year-olds have tattoos today.   Twenty-two percent of 26-40-year-olds and 30 percent of 18-25-year-olds have at least one body piercing. Once associated only with sailors, bikers and people outside the mainstream, it’s now common to see people of all ages and lifestyles sporting body art or a piercing.   Unfortunately, if you’re in a job search, visible body art ranks just below rancid breath in characteristics that may lose you a job offer. Careerbuilder.com’s survey revealed that piercings, cited by 37 percent of hiring managers, are the top physical attribute that can limit a candidate’s career potential. Bad breath came in next, at 34 percent, with visible tattoos trailing not too far behind at 31 percent. All things being equal, most recruiters will choose a clean cut applicant over one with visible tattoos or piercings. The exceptions are in companies where staff members don’t have any interaction with the public, or those whose customer base is young or accepting of individual expression through body art. Companies as large (and conservative) as Allstate Insurance and Bank of America stated that they have no polices or restrictions on piercings or body art, but Denny’s will not hire servers with visible tattoos, according to the survey. One of the issues with tattoos that make them problematic is that you get them at different phases of your life (often in youth) and what was important to you then may no longer be valid. (Case in point: your former girlfriend’s name on your bicep with the words: “together forever.” Oops.) People with troubled history (gangs, incarceration) may obtain tattoos that make that past hard to overcome and that forever become part of their image, no matter how they have turned their lives around. Of course body art is not just an expression for young people; according to a 2006 Pew research poll, ten percent of Baby Boomers report having at least one tattoo. Despite its growing acceptance in the mainstream, visible tattoos still present an image problem if you want to be taken seriously as a manager or corporate leader.   Even high fashion has its limits. Women’s fashion magazines regularly photoshop body art out of photographs of models and actresses. A recent Megan Fox cover shoot for Frances Grazia Magazine left a tattoo with a quote from Shakespeare (King Lear) visible but erased a Nietzsche quote. I can only image the sleepless nights that Angelina Jolie on the red carpet causes for a photo editor. Most career experts agree that choosing a spot that can be covered by business clothing makes the most sense of you decide to get a tattoo. Surveys indicate that about 17 percent of people with tattoos decide to get them removed. Removal is expensive and painful; chances are that you’ll wind up with a visible scar in place of your artwork. Do you have body art that you have to cover for your workplace? Do you think that your company has the right to restrict tattoos and piercings? Where would you draw the line, if it were up to you?   Let me know.

How to Become a Personal Injury or Malpractice Lawyer

How to Become a Personal Injury or Malpractice Lawyer Photo Credit -Pixabay.comPersonal injury lawyers are everywhere these days. Their ads can be found on every major TV network, on billboards nationwide and on countless park benches. There is a reason for this rapid growth and it’s because this is a very lucrative industry if you speak the legal lingo and have the qualifications to back it up.But how can you become a personal injury lawyer, what does it take and what sort of money can you expect to earn? Let’s find out.How Much do Personal Injury Lawyers MakeevalevalAspiring lawyers are often put off by this career path because they see it a cheap and they believe that they will spend their days dealing with crash-for-cash schemes, fake medical claims and slips and falls worth nothing more than a few hundred bucks. There is some truth to that because these claims do exist, but this industry is so much more. For every fake claim there are dozens of legitimate ones and these people deserve to have professional, capable lawyers on thei r side. These lawyers still help people. In this day and age it seems like everyone is trying to avoid liability and wipe their hands of a crime and it is basically their duty to find who is liable and make them pay and they can do this with everything from workplace slips to uncooked food and even fireworks on July 4th.The average claim in in the tens of thousands, with some of them totaling several million dollars. If a lawyer is operating on a no-win no-fee basis, then they may be taking as much as 40% of the money. What’s more, many of the smaller cases are settled outside of court following some simple litigation, with the lawyer essentially playing the role of a mediator. If you run your own legal firm, then this cash is all yours and you can make a very healthy 8 figure salary. If you work for someone else, you can still expect to earn in excess of $70,000 a year at the lower level. And that’s only if you avoid the bigger cases. These days big blue chip companies like GSK hav e multi-million and even multi-billion dollar class-action lawsuits filed against them because of issues with medications; hospitals are being forced to payout millions after messing-up surgeries and general care; and nursing homes are also finding themselves on the receiving end of huge lawsuits.evalThen you have the many product liability claims, which have been brought against everything from the legal cannabis industry to defective products in all of our homes. It’s a big money business and a very good one to target as a lawyer. So, just how do you become a personal injury lawyer?Step 1: DegreeThese days everyone is a little dismissive of personal injury lawyers, as mentioned already. But they have gone through law school just like everyone else and if you want to make it in the legal world you need to attain a Bachelor’s Degree and then use this to make it through law school. In your first year you will learn basic law, such as property and constitutional law. In the second a nd third year you can start to learn personal injury law, medical malpractice law and other high-earning areas.Step 2: InternevalOnce you have the degree then you need the experience. A lawyer isn’t made in the classroom, they are made in court and at the negotiation table. For this, you need to work in the field.Ask around at local law firms to see if they are looking for an intern. They will likely be more than happy to take you onboard. It is also worth noting that some schools will actually require you to have experience as an intern before going any further.Step 3: Pass the BarThe Bar Exam is required before you can practice law in most states. The exam is the same for everyone and is not specific to any area of law. However, they do tend to focus on specific state laws and can therefore vary from state to state.evalStep 4: Pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility ExamThis exam is required by most states and is a corequisite to the Bar Exam. There are only 2 states wher e the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination is not requiredâ€"Maryland and Wisconsin Every day there are hundreds of personal injury claims and medical malpractice claims just waiting to be picked up, with some clients being turned away. There is always going to be an opportunity and if you think you can make it on your own, then there is no shortage of clients waiting for you.
